How True AV ran live sound and lighting for Daybreak's Summer Concert Series from 2015 to 2025, more than 100 outdoor shows for crowds up to 3,000, from national tribute acts to local originals, rain or shine.
Daybreak's Summer Concert Series is one of the largest community concert programs on the Wasatch Front. LiveDAYBREAK runs it free for residents from May through September at the Rio Tinto Kennecott Stage in Downtown Daybreak, an outdoor venue that can hold roughly 3,000 people on turf and concrete.
The brief was simple to say and hard to deliver. A different band takes that stage almost every week, an ABBA tribute one night and a local singer-songwriter the next, and every one of them has to sound and look like they brought their own touring crew.
True AV was the team that made that happen, providing live sound and lighting for the series across ten seasons, from 2015 to 2025. More than 100 shows, outdoors, rain or shine.
Concert-grade sound and lighting on an outdoor stage, for a crowd that never paid for a ticket and never had to.
Our scope on the series was focused, live sound and lighting, and that focus is exactly why it held up for ten years. A new act every week means a new stage plot, a new mix, and a new look, built fast and dialed in before the first downbeat.
A full-range PA tuned to an open-air room, clean enough for a solo singer and loud enough for a rock tribute, remixed from scratch for whoever was on that week.
Stage lighting that carries the show as the summer light drops, color and movement for the tributes, a warm and honest wash for the acoustic nights.
Bands, crowds, and long summer evenings on the Rio Tinto Kennecott Stage. Drop the strongest frames in and the gallery fills itself.

A weekly series is a different kind of hard than a single big show. Every week brought a new act with its own stage plot, its own instruments, and its own mix, and the crowd was already on the lawn. There is no quiet rehearsal day. Add the open air, wind, heat, and the odd summer storm on live gear, and the margin for error disappears.
The win was consistency: show number 100 had to sound as good as show number one. That is the whole job.
“Our biggest flex is that we adapt quickly and we're resourceful.”
