Midway is a Swiss-themed town of about 6,000 people, three miles west of Heber City and about 28 miles from Salt Lake City. It holds the two biggest resort event facilities in the Heber Valley, plus an Olympic Nordic venue and a chalet-style Town Hall that locals rent for receptions.

Midway Swiss Days has run since 1947 on the Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend, centered on Town Hall. Hotels and roads fill up. Avoid that weekend for load-ins unless your event is part of it.
Soldier Hollow was built for the 2002 Nordic events and now hosts skiing, tubing and the Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championship. The championship moved to Memorial Day weekend and is set for May 28 to 31, 2027.
The Wasatch Fault runs under Midway and formed its limestone mounds and hot springs. The Homestead Crater, a geothermal pool used for year-round scuba diving, is part of the Homestead resort, a setting guests remember.
Midway sits at 5,653 feet and gets real winter weather. Resort events run year-round, but outdoor setups from late fall to spring need a weather backup.
