Riverton grew from a farming town of 2,820 people in 1970 to 45,285 in 2020, and about half its households have children. The event calendar shows it: Town Days, rodeo nights, fireworks and family gatherings, most of them at 31-acre Riverton City Park.

True AV has worked Riverton City Park, and we run out of our shop in Bluffdale. We bring the stage, PA, lighting and power plan an open park needs, with a named show-day lead and backup gear on every show.

What makes Riverton different for events

Town Days runs for weeks

Riverton's Independence Day celebration started in 2026 with a rodeo June 25 to 27, then a carnival, the Tribute to America patriotic concert, a July 3 parade, and a July 4 concert capped by 10 PM fireworks. Nearly all of it happened at Riverton City Park.

One park does most of the work

Riverton City Park reopened in 2015 after a major renovation. It has an event lawn, a rodeo arena, the historic Old Dome Meeting Hall and a large pavilion for about 400.

Corporate park bookings cost more

Business or corporate reservations carry a $1,000 non-refundable fee plus a $1,000 refundable deposit, and large-pavilion events need a special event permit. Alcohol and bounce houses are banned in all city parks.

Everyone arrives by car

Bangerter Highway, Mountain View Corridor and Redwood Road all cross the city, but there is no rail and only one hourly UTA bus on 12600 S, added in April 2025. Plan parking for nearly every guest.

A city auditorium with basic tech

The Sandra N. Lloyd Community Center auditorium seats 327 for performances and comes with a house mic, HDMI audio and nine preset lighting looks. It handles recitals, business meetings, banquets and dances.

Venues we enjoy in Riverton

Private venues with strong event teams, great rooms and a smooth load-in. The kind of places where the production side just works.

We did not find a private venue in Riverton that meets our bar. The private halls here are small, family-run spaces with little public review history. For a corporate or gala-level room, Riverton planners usually look to The Ballpark at America First Square or Embassy Suites in South Jordan, or Loveland Living Planet Aquarium in Draper.

Planning tips

Before you book in Riverton

✓ If a company is booking the park, budget the $1,000 non-refundable fee and $1,000 deposit up front, and file the special event permit for the large pavilion early.
✓ The auditorium allows custom lighting only through the city's vendor. If nine presets are not enough, ask the city first, then have us cover sound, video and anything else it allows.
✓ City Hall Plaza and the auditorium share parking and cannot be booked together, so choose one per date.
✓ Expect City Park to be tied up with Town Days from late June through July 4, and schedule private park events around it.
✓ With no rail in town, put parking directions and a drop-off point in the invitation, not just the address.
